    Featured Chef

    Crystal has a six year background in both culinary and pastry. After spending 14 years in the insurance industry, Crystal decided to attend culinary school, where she received her degree in Pastry Arts from the Art Institutes International Kansas City in 2012. She then began her culinary career as a Pastry Chef Assistant at the InterContinental Hotel on the Plaza. After leaving the InterContinental, Crystal went on to become the Head Chef of a local coffee bistro. Shortly thereafter she started as a Cook II at Westin/Sheraton Hotels Downtown Kansas City before transitioning into the Pastry Department as an Assistant Pastry Chef. By her second year with the hotel, she was offered the Complex Pastry Supervisor/Pastry Chef position where she managed staff, coordinated tasting menus, and created dessert menus for each of the five hotel restaurant outlets. Outside of her role here at Isle of Capri, Crystal also owns a successful custom cake decorating business and works part time at a local French bakery in downtown Kansas City.
