    Top Secrets for Baking Better!

Desserts and gaming go hand in hand at Lady Luck Casino® Marquette. With two fabulous restaurants and our all-star chefs, our casino is truly a savory experience. We're here to share some tips on how our desserts came to be. Feel free to try these at home!

    Shhhh...Our Baking Tips Aren't a Secret Anymore!

Our master bakers are happy to provide industry secrets about our desserts. Here are a few of our top tips to craft cakes, pies and pastries that are just as good as you'll find in our restaurants.

Handle Your Ingredients at Room Temperature
We all know how hard it is to add cold butter to a flour mix. Let all of your ingredients reach room temperature. The chemistry of your items will sing in harmony and make the finished product fantastic!

    Proper Bakeware is Important
No matter the state of your oven, high-quality bakeware will enhance your desserts. Glass and metal bowls and pans are sure to last throughout the years. Make sure to grease your bakeware with butter and flour before baking and eliminate the hassle of flaky, non-stick equipment.

    Keep Your Measurements Exact
It's easy to believe that you can throw a little bit of this and that in your dessert preparation. A digital scale is an easier way to prevent an edible error and keep your treats delicious.

    Follow the Instructions Precisely
Take heed of instructions that state commands like "cream" and "mix," especially to the directions that come after. You don't want to over- or under-prepare your ingredients.

    Don't Skimp on the Salt
Salt can keep your desserts from being overly sweet and too dense. You'll find your flavors and ingredients come alive with the addition of salt, as well.

    Let Your Dessert Chill
Your baked goods continue to cook after you take them out of the oven. Leaving your dessert to cool allows you to easily add frosting and prevents burning your guests' mouths with a piping hot plate.

    Our Master Baker, Robert Weaver

Now that you know how to prepare your desserts at home, let us introduce you to the man in charge of our fine dining. Robert Weaver has been with our establishment from day one in 1994 and continues to impress our guests with his tasty desserts.

"Chef Bob," as he is affectionately known, has convinced us to utilize the importance of local and seasonal ingredients in each dish. Our featured chef prepares his signature menu items from scratch and gives back to the community with each delicious dish.

Chef Bob lives in Farmersburg, Iowa with his large family (eight children qualifies as large) who enjoy his cooking as much as we do. He finds pleasure in golfing and bowling when he's not livening up your dessert plate at our restaurants!

    Dining with Lady Luck

Treat yourself to an excellent meal and dessert at one of our two restaurants. We urge you to stay and experience the dual excellence of our dining establishments.

Stop by The Buffet for our famous spread of local and international delights. We're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Diners adore our home-style roasted chicken and juicy ribs. Fresh-baked pastries and succulent desserts go great with your meal!

A day and a night out gaming wouldn't be complete without a trip to O&H Express. You must try our homemade cookies and sweet ice cream cones after your dinner. We're located on the third deck of the casino for a convenient place to grab a bite to eat.
