    5 Best Game Day Dips

    There are a few vital ingredients that go into making a great game day: a game, great atmosphere, great food and great drinks. When it comes to food, there's one item that must be included for a successful game day, and that's dip. Dips are pretty amazing. Think about it. They can really elevate any appetizer or main dish. Not only are dips delicious, but they’re also super easy to make. Here at Isle of Capri Casino® Kansas City, we definitely have our favorite dips. Read on to learn what are top five favorite game dips are.

    1. Cookies and Cream Cheese Football Dip

    This isn't like your typical dip, but game day should never be typical! This is great dessert dip that will satisfy those sugar tooth cravings.

    Directions:

    Whisk 8 ounces cream cheese and 4 tablespoons softened butter in mixer until smooth. Add in 3 cups powdered sugar, whisking gently. Add in 1 cup of white chocolate chips, and 3-4 crushed Oreos.

    Put 12 Oreo cookies in a large bowl. Scrape the cream cheese mixture into the bowl. Do not mix. Use a rubber spatula to build up the Oreo crumbs around the cream cheese mixture as high as you can. Press crumbs into the mixture.

    Using your hands, gently pick up cream cheese ball and lay it on a large strip of plastic. Pour the rest of the crumbs over the ball. Wrap tightly and allow the ball to freeze for 30 minutes.

    Remove from freezer and shape into a football. You may use the remainder melted white chocolate as piping for the football.

    2. Slow Cooker Spinach and Artichoke Dip

    This dip will always be a classic. Dairy and artichoke really compliment one another. It’s super savory, ooey, gooey and delicious.

    Directions:

    Add 1 1/4 ounce artichoke hearts and one 9-ounce bag chopped spinach to a slow cooker. Combine 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup cream cheese and add. Add 3 tablespoons chopped jalapeno peppers. Top with 1/2 cup mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cook on low for two hours. Remove and stir. Finish by adding 1/2 cup mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over top. Serve with chips or crackers.

    3. Cucumber Yogurt Dip

    Dips don’t always have to be savory. This recipe is super refreshing and easy on the calories.

    Directions:

    In a mixer, combine 2 pounds Greek yogurt, 1/5 of an ounce grated cucumber, 1 cup lemon juice, 1.5 ounces grated garlic and 1 tablespoon kosher salt, and whisk together. Feel free to use whatever garnish you like. Serve with veggies.

    4. Skinny Queso Dip

    This is another one of those dips that you can enjoy completely guilt free! But the best part is it doesn’t look healthy. It appears like a regular dip, so your guests will never be the wiser. Queso addicts, rejoice!

    Directions:

    Melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. Add in 3 cloves minced garlic and 1 jalapeno. Stir for about 1 minute. Add in 1 diced tomatoes and cook for 1-2 minutes.

    Whisk in 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. Stir until brown or about 1 minute. Gradually add in 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk until mixture thickens, or about 4-5 minutes.

    Stir in 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese, mixing for 1-2 minutes. Add in 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste, and 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt. Stir until well combined.

    Serve immediately and garnish with cilantro, tomatoes and avocado.

    5. Bacon Corn Dip

    Let’s face it. Everything tastes better with bacon. This recipe is so unbelievably addictive that you don’t even need chips to enjoy it!

    Directions:

    Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add in 4 slices diced bacon. Allow to cook until brown or 6-8 minutes. Transfer to paper towel and drain excess fat.

    Add in 3 cups corn kernels, 1/2 cup diced onion and 1 bell pepper. Stir until tender, or 4-5 minutes. Mix in 4 ounces cream cheese and 2 tablespoons milk. Stir until well combined or for about 2-3 minutes. If mixture becomes too thick, add in milk as needed for desired consistency.

    Stir in 2 thinly sliced green onions, 1 tablespoon sugar and kosher salt and pepper to taste.

    Serve immediately and top with bacon.
